J.P. Baker

James Patrick Baker or JP as everyone has known him since his daddy decided that was going to be his name passed away July 28, 2017 in White Oak. He was born July 12, 1988 in Longview to Patrick and Tammy Baker. JP attended White Oak schools and loved being a Roughneck. He was always involved in anything sports related especially baseball and football. He graduated White Oak High School class of 2007 and continued living in White Oak and became a welder like his dad and granddad. JP loved his Roughnecks, and loved the Dallas Cowboys even more. He was a diehard Cowboys fan to the end. J.P. was never without his companion, Scout. But there was one thing that he loved even more, that was his first and last love—Heather Miller.

He is survived by his fiancé: Heather Miller and her daughter Kaitlyn Watson of White Oak; mother: Tammy Baker Dever and husband Ronald of Seminole, FL; sisters: Bailey Tomlinson and her husband Russell of Tyler, and Kelsey Price of Arlington; grandparents: Jimmy Baker and his wife Virginia Gail of White Oak, Gary Nealy and his wife Rita of White Oak, and Sidney Lee Nelson of Seminole, FL; aunts: Renee Huckstep and her husband Chris of Dallas, Kelly Aldawodi and her husband Fuad of Florida, Grace Price of Florida; uncles: Tommy Baker of White Oak, Alfred Nelson of Florida; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his father: Patrick Eugene Baker.

A time of visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Lakeview Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 501 US Hwy 80 East, White Oak, TX 75693 with Rev. Chad Richardson officiating. Pallbearers will be: Alfred Nelson, Andy Breitenberg, Jermey Baker, Chris Moon, Nick Thompson, Kiley Baker, John Odom, Ameer Dawodi, Matt Baker, and Clint Adkins. Interment will follow at the Old East Mountain Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home, Longview, TX.
