Her husband Tom made sure she would get there, and in the summer of 1974 they packed up a dog, a cat, 3 horses, and 5 kids in a horse trailer and moved to Tatum, Texas. She eventually got her dream job of working for Gregg County Humane Society for 25 years before retiring.
She lived a long and wonderful life with her family, her church and the Lord. She spent the last few years enjoying the country life in her small cabin and watching the chickens roam her yard and the hummingbirds flying in for their daily feeding.
