Surrounded by her family, Wilma Arnett was reunited with her husband and two children at the gates of Heaven, Thursday August 3, 2023. Wilma loved her family fiercely. She dedicated her life to caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They were the light of her life. Wilma married Floyd Arnett, November 29, 1952. Together they raised two beautiful children, Floretta and Shane.
Wilma was well known for her beautiful cake decorating, painting, flower arrangements, woodworking, quick wit, and being sassy. She loved camping, fishing, playing cards, doing puzzles, and just being with family and friends. Wilma was a bit mischievous when it came to family reunions. She was always up to something and everyone had a good laugh. You never knew if her cakes were real or Styrofoam.
Wilma spent as much time as she could with her four granddaughters instilling the values of faith, family, and fun as they were growing into young women. She taught them how to cook, how to love others, and how to love like Jesus. She enjoyed every moment she had with them and created limitless memories for the girls to carry on.
Wilma was the most dedicated and loving great grandmother to her six great grandchildren. She was always interested in what they were doing and enjoyed spending quality time with each one of them.
Wilma is survived by her granddaughters Jeannie Thompson, Mitzie Willis, Kelly Casto (Nick), and Christie Eddins (Stason); great grandchildren Madelyn Willis, Jonathan Willis, Hunter Casto, Parker Eddins, Conner Casto, and Cooper Eddins; sister Anna Mae Baker; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Arnett; daughter Floretta Wright, and son Shane Arnett. Their family is whole and rejoicing in Heaven.
The family would like to thank Heritage Hospice, Hospice Plus, and Visiting Angels for the love and dedication they put into caring for Wilma. A very special thank you to our special caregivers Sherry Smith, Sheila Mack, and Diane Briggs. We cannot thank you enough for all you did to help Wilma live life to the fullest. You will forever be part of our family. Thank you for loving her like she was your own.
