Kathleen Kimiko Young, born in Covina, CA on November 29, 1951 to Yoshimaro and Katsuko. She passed away peacefully with her family by her bedside after losing her courageous battle to cancer. Kathy made a promise to walk down the aisle at her daughter’s Oahu wedding earlier this year, which she proudly kept.
Another one of her prouder moments was making the varsity tennis team at Chino High School. Kathy later graduated from Loma Linda University with a degree in Medical Technology. She worked at Bay Harbor, Brotman, and UCLA making a lifetime of friends along the way. Kathy met her husband, Michael, on a ski trip through mutual friends. They soon married on November 1, 1980. Justin was in born in 1983 and Michelle two years later.
In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed seeing the world, from family trips to Hawaii to cruising in Europe, Alaska, Tahiti, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. An In and Out hamburger always brought a smile to her face as did French dipped sandwiches from Philippes.
She is survived by her husband Michael, son Justin, daughter Michelle, son-in-law David, and brother Bruce. She is preceded in death by her brother Norman.
