Our deepest condolences goes out to the Pasillas and Castillo Family.  Mr. Pasillas is the father of my dear childhood friend, Kathy.  I remember while growing up with Kathy, how Mr. Pasillas always looked after his "little girl."  Although he was strick,as parnets, we now understand why.  If someone would ask me what I thought of Mr. Pasillas, I would say "No matter what, he never left his family." To me, that's a loving man and an honorable one. May God be with him and his family always.

It is with great sadness and to learn of the passing of Mr. Pasillas by his son Eddie. Not having a father while growing up, Mr. Pasillas was a stand-in "surrogate father" to me. He always made time to "talke" to me, offered me his wisdom & guidance and reminded me of my responsibilities to my mother, my ethnicisity, but more importantly to myself. I  have fond memories of going over to the Pasillas's home, Echo Park, with Mrs. Pasillas "quickly" handing us kids a cold glass of Kool Aid and offerings us something to eat. In my teens and early adult life, Mr. Pasillas would address me as Mr. Fidal. Sadley, the last time I visited him, he called Robert Mitchum, the actor. I will always love you, and never forget you, Mr. Pasillas, your "third son" Vidal Herrera
