

Alton was born on June 7, 1944 in Massachusetts to parents Ernest and Louanna Corey. He loved his life there. When Alton was 6 1/2 years old his parents packed up Alton and his younger brother Arthur and made the long move to California.
The family took frequent trips to Santa Barbara. Their parents taught Alton and Arthur to appreciate art and music. This allowed Alton and Arthur to explore their own love for music and art.
Alton met his wife Sharon, who also appreciated art and music, while working on the school paper at Mt. Sac Jr. College. They both played and sang folk music.
Alton’s parents took Alton, Sharon and Arthur on an unforgettable 24 day trip around Europe.
Alton and Sharon married in 1966. Alton was still attending school and continued on to Cal State Fullerton where he doubled majored in Journalism and English. After college, he obtained a job as a grocery store checker. He then went on to put his English major to use, becoming a tech writer for Alpha Beta’s headquarters.
In 1973 Arthur, Alton and Sharon started writing songs, they soon added a fourth to their trio, Arthur’s wife, Margie. Their proudest moment was when “Tales of the New West” was released. This album was sold in stores and still is available on Amazon. The quartet continued writing until 2007, where life got in the way.
Alton and Sharon loved to travel. As Alton stated “Each summer they needed to recharge their physical and mental batteries” They loved nature, the outdoors and going to concerts. They went on 38 glorious summers vacations.
Alton, Sharon and Arthur took several car trips to Canada. They had great adventures together. The song writing quartet loved to go to concerts, they especially enjoyed Moody Blues, John Steward, Crosby Stills, Nash & Young.The last concert the quartet attended together was Gordon Lightfoot in 2015.
On May 24th, 2015 Sharon passed away. It has not been the same since.
About a year later on June 23, 2016 Alton passed away. He was loved by all that met him, but mostly by his younger brother Art, and his cat Marcie. He was a gentle soul. He will be truly missed.
There was a beautiful service held for the immediate family in Los Osos, California where Alton was laid to rest next to the love of his life, Sharon.
