Johns’ career began during WWII in the navy. John learned to make drinking water by desalination from salt water. He continued his education while working for the City of Newport Beach Calif. Slowly he worked his way through to the management of the Big Canyon Reservoir in Corona Del Mar CA. He continued managing the reservoir until his retirement. He had many hobbies that he loved such as building beautiful wood furniture or hand carved bowls or book ends. He and his wife Barbara loved the library.
John is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Ann Macdonald
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Armstrong Macdonald, grandson, Chris Armstrong, and son-in law Robert Armstrong.
He will be missed by his family.
