

Robert “Bob” Earl Yerkes, age 57, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in his home in Los Osos, California. Bob was born March 30th, 1967 in Sacramento, California to parents Kathy Yerkes, and late Stephen Yerkes.
He is survived by his children Angela Devito, Thomas Yerkes, Georgia Yerkes, and Kathleen Yerkes. He is also survived by his three siblings Debbi Yerkes-McClellen, Mike Yerkes, and Becci Yerkes-Bazen, as well as his mother Kathy Yerkes, and stepfather Harold “Dave” Yelton.
Bob lived in San Luis Obispo County most of his life and first moved to the area in his toddler years. He graduated from Morro Bay High School in 1985, before attending a few community colleges and experiencing all that life had to offer.
Bob was a jack of all trades, however he worked in construction for the majority of his lifetime. Most recently, he was a dedicated driver for Ride-On Transportation where he made himself the best friend of each of his passengers. In addition, he spent summers in his youth working at Mt. Shasta Park as a ski lift operator. No matter what he did, he had a great passion for all of his endeavors and put his heart and soul into whatever he pursued.
Bob’s hobbies and interests throughout his lifetime include, but are not limited to surfing, snowboarding, motorcycling, fishing, fashion, football (Go Steelers!), enjoying music, cooking, caring for animals, socializing with anyone and everyone, and being a kind, silly, loving, and devoted dad. He was always incredibly open and eager to try new things.
Known by almost anyone you’d run into in the county of SLO, Bob was generous and always ready to help those in need. He was a bright light in the lives of those around him and a comfort for many. He loved his friends and family with his whole being and impacted an innumerable amount of people's lives.
Robert’s service will take place at 1 pm on Saturday, January 4th, 2025, at the Cow Camp Event Center at the Beecham Ranch.
