

Aaron Russell Daugherty, 93, of Louisville, passed away on December 5, 2025, at the Louisville VA Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1932, in Baizetown, Kentucky to Lillie and Willie Daugherty. Aaron was a devout Christian and a longtime member of Victory Baptist Church.
Aaron was a gentle and kind soul who touched the hearts of everyone he met. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in England, an experience he carried with honor throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was also "pappy" to so many of his nieces and nephews. Aaron moved through each day with grace, warmth, and unconditional love, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 71 years, Wilma Moore Daugherty; his daughter Debbie Troklus (Jeff), his great grandchildren Alden Blair, Kaylee Cassell, Savvy Newman, Hunter Cassell and Casen Cassell, Granddaughter in law Laura Cassell, his devoted caregiver Elizabeth Clark, and many nieces and nephews.
Aaron was preceded in death by his grandchildren Nikki and Mark Russell Cassell, his parents Lillie and Willie Daugherty, his brothers Denzil, Offie, Louis, and Wavy, and his sisters Bonnie McQuady, Kathleen Albin, and Geneva Renfrow.
Visitation will be 1-8PM Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218. Visitation will resume Friday, December 12 from 9 AM until the funeral service begins at 11 AM. Interment will follow services at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central.
