Andrew was a graduate of the University of Louisville, where he earned degrees in Psychology and Philosophy. He was a man with a loving heart and a uniquely dry wit. A deep thinker with a fondness for reading, video games (especially EverQuest), and animals, Andrew possessed a wide breadth of knowledge and could engage thoughtfully on nearly any subject.
With love and honor, his nephew Lucas wrote: “There were many conversations I had with Andrew that I could only have had with him, with the way he knew so much about a range of different subjects. We shared many hours together and many laughs. Andrew’s presence defined a great deal of my childhood, and he inspired many passions in me that I still pursue today.”
His sister, Amanda, remembers him as a kind and sensitive man—a thoughtful brother and friend.
His parents, Earl and Bonnie Hawkins, write: “We ask for Andrew’s forgiveness for any mistakes we made or pain we may have caused along the way. We hope he knows how deeply he was loved, and how much he meant to us.”
Andrew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ollie and Mary Lentz, Punkin and Jean Hawkins, and his dear friend, Renita Boniak.
He leaves behind many who will forever cherish his memory: his parents, Earl and Bonnie Hawkins; his sister, Amanda Hawkins Logsdon (Steve); his beloved nephew, Lucas Hawkins; and two extra-special aunts, Lori Ann Sweeny and Janice Hawkins. He is also remembered with love by many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Cremation was chosen, with future placement at Resthaven Memorial Park alongside his mother.
