Tony was born on November 15, 1926 in Montclair, NJ of Italian parents who had emigrated from Italy. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific division in World War II, including the occupation of Japan and Korea from 1941-1946.
He majored in geology at DePauw University, and obtained a Master of Science degree from Penn State University in Mineral Economics and Geology. He started his career in foreign oil exploration and production as a well-site geologist in Venezuela with Texaco. After several foreign assignments, he spent the last 24 years of career as a Senior Economic Analyst with Amoco Production Company in New York, Chicago and Houston. After retiring in Louisville, he served 10 years as Commissioner of Finances and Treasurer for the city of Westwood. He was a member of St. Albert the Great parish and the St. Al’s Aces club.
He is survived by his wife Hilda; sons, Marc (Margaret), David (Sara) and Steven; grandchildren, James, Joseph, Lilly and Reed.
A Mass to Celebrate Tony’s life will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1395 Girard Dr. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM on Monday at Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd.
