Barbara Sue Beasley, 71, of Louisville passed away Friday, April 23, 2010, at Norton Healthcare Pavilion. She was born July 31, 1938, in Louisville to the late Selman and Catherine Reynolds Franzman. She was a member of St. Andrews United Church of Christ, Skirts and Flirts Square Dance and Round Dance. She was a Honorary Kentucky Colonel. She was a teacher at Greenwood Elementary school for 29 years and was a member of the PTA. In 1960, she graduated from Murray State and later earned her masters degree from the University of Louisville. She was an avid supporter of the Humane Society, Breast Cancer Society and the Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Troy T. Beasley; two daughters, June (John) Heffley and Allison (Eddie) Allen; two sons, Robert (Anita) Beasley and Timothy (Desiree) Beasley; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild and several cousins.
A celebration of her life will be conducted Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. The family request donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the Kentucky Humane Society or Hosparus.
