DONOVAN, BILL J., 82, of Louisville passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Norton Hospice. He was retired from the Courier-Journal after 30 years of service as an illustrator and artist, owner of Bill Donovan Novelties, a graduate of Male High School, an Army Veteran of World War II, and a Baptist by faith. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Donovan. He is survived by his children, Janis Thorpe (Kevin), Lynn Burba (Jimmy), Mary Thorpe (Jack), William Donovan (Kristen) and Doug Donovan, brother, Robert Donovan; former wife, Mary Geneva Donovan. He has seven grandchildren, Joey McGee, Jennifer and Tony Reynolds, Michael Burba, Jessica Brooks, Seth and Langdon Donovan. His most enjoyable times were spent with his loving and wonderful grandchildren whom he adored. A celebration of Mr. Donovan's life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with burial to follow in the Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
