She was born December 21, 1923 in Artemis, Kentucky, daughter of the late William and Sudie Jackson Setser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herman Carpenter; grandson, Sherman Taylor Black and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Dawn Carpenter.
She was a homemaker and member of Cornerstone Church, formerly known as Adair Assembly of God.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Marjorie Marie Gratz, Leonard Edward Carpenter and wife Maryalice, Julie Ann Black, Judy Lynn Robinson and husband Michael, Herman William Carpenter and wife Norma; twelve grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 26, 2011 in the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 – 8 PM on Friday and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
