He was a meat butcher by trade and owned Cissell's Meat Market in Louisville and later in Clarksville, IN. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Charlie leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Lola Lee Cissell; and five children, Randy Cissell (Mary), Janet James (John), Janice Isaacs (David), Kipp Downing (Sue) and Kevin Downing (Beth); 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Charlie was a dedicated husband, a wonderful father and a great friend to so many. This truly gentle man will be greatly missed.
His Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 p.m.
