Charles "Bobby" (Shorty) Robert Hess

Charles "Bobby"(Shorty) Robert Hess, age 87 of Louisville, Kentucky joined his grandparents, mother and father, Mildred "Toots" Cowles Hess and Charles 'Buck" Edward Hess and his wife, Nancy Hess, peacefully and naturally on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Nazareth Home Clifton, under great supportive Hosparus Care.

Shorty retired from 30 years of service as a forklift driver from Collins Company. He was a member of the ASA Softball Hall of Fame and played softball for Portland Athletic Club and Jiffy Club. He was also a member of Mackin Boys and Girls Club.

He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Fred Rogalinski, his granddaughter, Megan Krieger and other family members as well as many good friends.

He is survived by his siblings: Dolly Graf (Dave), Herman "Hermie" Hess (Phyllis); his children, Karen Hess, Tracy Ploetner (David) and Angela Green (Charlie). He had 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218), and again Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 9:30 AM until service time of 11:00 AM.

A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM.

A graveside service will take place Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Pfrimmers Chapel Cemetery (505 Pfrimmers Chapel Road NE, Corydon, Indiana 47112).

In lieu of flowers and plants, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to Hosparus of Louisville (6200 Dutchmans Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40205).
