I am Ron Conway and a longtime friend of David. Dave and I were fraternity brothers at the ATO house at the University of Kentucky. Dave and I became very close, we shared many good times and said times together. I love him and always will. He was a good friend, a good companion and a person with whom I had nothing but the highest respect and admiration for. Not only was David very intelligent he had a great sense of humor and a great compassion for his fellow man. My world plus the world will not be the same without David. I will never forget you David and I miss you terribly. God bless you and forever rest in peace. Your old friend and fraternity brother Ron.

Dave was so many things to me over the last 40 years-a husband, the father of my son, the grandfather of my grandkids, and always part of my family. He was an intelligent man, a great attorney and had a kind heart. It saddened me to watch him struggle with health issues over the last few years. We will all miss him and think of him with fond memories. I want to thank his brother George and his friend Eileen for helping him so much this last year. Dave put up a good fight up to the very end. I look forward to the upcoming service when I can see his many friends and colleagues.

I am so surprised and sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I worked with him for several years in CHR and he was always a huge help with legal issues but more importantly he was also a lot of fun. I really enjoyed knowing him and it is sad to know he's not with us anymore. I'm also sorry we are not able to honor him properly because of covid-19 restrictions. Love and prayers to his family. David was a selfless gentle man, a talented and clever lawyer, and a friend to so many. As others have said, his story-telling skills were unmatched. But it was his huge heart and seemingly unlimited compassion for his fellow-strugglers that elevated his status in the eyes of so many. When called upon, David could be counted on night and day, to reach out to anyone in need. He was the best example of kindness, goodness, and generosity many of us have ever seen. We will miss him mightily. Sending love and support to his family. Rest in Peace, Trusted Servant.

Dave was a dear friend. We worked together at the Louisville Public Defender’s Office. Dave was one of the finest trial attorneys that I ever knew. He was an incredible story teller and could really light up a room. Dave was fun and to be around. He never met a stranger. We had many good times together. The world is diminished with his passing. I will never forget him.

Heaven gained an angel… I had the pleasure of working with Dave in the Cabinet for Health and Family Services as well as the Attorney General’s Office. He was compassionate, funny and a gifted lawyer and storyteller. He was like a big brother to me- the things he taught me I’ve carried forward in my law practice. Dave made me a better person. He was friend and counselor to many, especially lawyers in crisis.
May he Rest In Peace.

I am so sad to hear of Dave's passing. I worked with him for 8 years at the Attorney General's office. He saw me as an individual, not just as another employee. He was caring, professional and devoted to his work, a good listener, and also quite a character. I loved listening to the stories that he would tell, both personal and professional. We were both dog lovers and would share photos and stories of our dogs all the time. He truly loved his pup! Even after I left for another position 2 years ago, we would email interesting tidbits of news to each other. I will miss him tremendously. Please accept my prayers of comfort and healing.
