Charles Dexter Mumford, 60, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at Jewish Hospital. He was born May 9, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Eugene Mumford and Barbara Hood Cook. He worked for many years at Bohn Fiberglass Industries but was happiest at home serving as Mr. Fix It and building and enjoying remote control cars, boats, and helicopters. He was a loving husband, father, and especially papo.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dianne Kay Tarrance Mumford; son, Daniel Mumford; daughter, Ashley Mumford and her fiancé, Jason Rainwater; granddaughter, Isabel Rainwater; brothers, Donald “Donnie” Mumford (Frances) and Dennis Mumford (Carol); brother-in-law, Derral Tarrance; sister-in-law, Debra Scott; cousin, LaDawn Temple; and nephew, Donte Temple.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at Arch L. Heady and Son Southern Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Louisville, Kentucky 40215.
