Charles Anthony Schmidt Sr.

Charlie was born on September 4, 1936 to Joseph and Lillian Schmidt.

He was a member of Mary Queen of Peace, St. Denis Campus and a retired owner/operator of Charlies Beer Depot on Cane Run Road for 34 years.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joanne McCauley Schmidt; children, Lisa Johnson (Mike), Tony Schmidt (Jan), Julie Houser (Steve), Kim Welker (Gordon), Doug Schmidt, and Shelley Reaves; 10 grandchildren, Chuck, James, Emily, Nicola, Mindy, Derrick, Rodney, Chris, Kristen, Dylan; 11 great-grandchildren, Austin, Hannah, Rebecca, Kaylee, Madison, MacKenzie, Kara, Trinity, Mary, Jacob, and Brandon; sister, Pat Barnes; and a special friend, Chris.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Mary Queen of Peace, St. Denis Campus, 4205 Cane Run Road, with entombment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation to the public will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 1-8 p.m. on Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway.
