He was a retired switchman for L&N and CSX Railroads and had served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lettie Clem; and a daughter, Debbie Tierman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Clem; sons, Donald Clem Jr. (Amber) and Robert Kleitz (Rita); daughters, Vivian Kleitz and Janet Helm (David); brothers, John Clem (Helen) and Jack Clem (Loraine); a sister, Jean Newport (Arvid); eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 p.m.
