

Donald R. “Chief” Fuller, CMSgt USAF (RET), 89, surrounded by his loving family and friends, went home on Sunday to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He served 31 ½ years in the United States Air Force and was one of the first Chief Master Sergeants promoted to that rank. He began his service in World War II, and served in the Korean War. After his retirement from active duty, he taught Air Force ROTC, for 8 yrs for the Jefferson County Public School system. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of National Society Sons of the American Revolution, and a long time and devoted member of Westport Road Baptist Church. He also volunteered for Meadowview Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by the mother of 4 of his children, Betty Christian Fuller, his son, Donald Russell Fuller Jr., and also by his 8 siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years; Peggy Horn Fuller, his children; Brenda Yates (Michael), Donna Bissonette (Timothy), Robert London Fuller (Heather), Russell Fuller (Beth), and his step-son; Shawn Tabor . His grandchildren; Brendan (Shannon), Emily (Mike), Tracy, Amelia, Alex, R.J., a great-granddaughter; Geneva, and extended family and friends.
A service to celebrate the life of “Chief” will be held at Noon on Thursday at Westport Road Baptist Church, 9705 Westport Road., with interment at a later date at, Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held 2-8 pm Wednesday at Arch L. Heady at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road.
