Sorry this is sooooooooooo late.  For many years Don's name was taped on "his" chair for Thursday night men's bible study at the "Howards" (Bill passed away in 2008).  I just found out he had passed away.  So sorry for your loss. Don was a very special man who loved Jesus.

To Mr. Don's Family:
First and foremost, we are sorry for your loss. In our neighborhood, Mr. Don was a very selfless man.

We first moved into our house a little over a year ago and had our first interaction with Mr. Don and Stan as they were walking by our house. He always waved to us when we were in our yard or driving by him in our cars, always saying "Hi Matt, Hi Sarah." Mr. Don brought our garbage bin back up to our house, and I'd also see him picking up newspapers left in the grass or sidewalks and delivering them to the front door of a neighbor's house.  We appreciate Mr. Don's kindness and will miss that most of all.

To Don's family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll miss seeing Don around the neighborhood, with his dog, waving as I drove by or walked by with our dog. He always smiled, said hello, or told me how pretty our dog is. I loved his signs in the yard, and his love of The Lord. He's now waving and smiling in Heaven. I'll miss him very much.

Thinking of all Don's family today, especially you, Cathy and Dottie, and his children Nicole and Todd.  Praying God has wrapped you in his arms and is comforting you with peace. I am attaching Don's high school senior photo I had kept all these years.  He was my cute cousin!  Love and hugs.

From the first day I met Don when I moved into the neighborhood 14 years ago, he knew me, called me by name, knew my dogs, my family and recognized me in every vehicle I drove. He always said hello, sometimes stopped to talk a little and ALWAYS had a smile on his face and a wave whenever I drove in or out of the neighborhood. I'm going to miss that. A kind man who had an incredible love for animals and spent a good portion of each day doing good deeds for his neighbors. He was truly the kind of neighbor anyone would be lucky to have. RIP, Don. You will be missed.

I knew Donnie for about 10 years at LG&E.  I helped him learn how to use a computer in the 90's.  I still think of him from time to time.  I say this in a possitive way.  "He was a Character".  I'm sorry for your loss.

Condolences to Don's family.  We will miss Don and Stan. Don was the best neighbor anyone could want with one of the most beautiful spirits we've experienced. His love of his dogs spoke to this as did his numerous acts of kindness he showed to so many. He truly was an example of what God's love is supposed to be. We will miss you, Don, but know that now you can be free of earthly limitations as you live in Our Father's home. Rest in peace, Gentle Soul.
