She was a homemaker and devoted mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Frank" Bender; and a grandson, C.J. Schlenker.
She is survived by her loving children, John Bender, Jackie Bartley, Debra Davis, Rose Billings, Robert Bender, Karen Ann Breeding, Kathleen Gonzales, Frank Bender and Valarie Sharp; siblings, Herbert Collings Jr., Virginia Fields, Barbara Heath and Karen LaRocco; 36 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren.
Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010 at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 p.m.
