Doris Elizabeth Lamping

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur F. Lamping, Jr., parents Henry and Ethel Kinkle, and brother Henry Kinkel, Jr.

She is survived by her sister, Elaine Bielefeld, her children Bonnie (Dave) Johnston, Greg Lamping, Sarah Lamping, and Jeff (Carolyn) Lamping, grandchildren Holly Kuykendall, Andrew (Allison) Johnston, Rachel (Alex) Davis, Josh (Jess) Lamping, Jacob (Brittany) Lamping, John Haun, and Debbie Keith, eight great-grandchildren with one on the way, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Doris was a blessing to her family. She never missed a special event for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved long visits with her sister and family at Panera Bread, hosting her annual family Christmas party where 40+ please would pack into her home, and her regular Saturday morning appointments at the beauty shop. She was a supporter of the Louisville Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds.

In addition, Doris was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, was the bookkeeper at Buechel and Watterson Elementaries and Valley High School, was the class president of the Class of 1942 of Shawnee High School and led class reunions up to their 78th year.

She was dearly loved by her caretakers at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville, Indiana, and the family would like to thank them for their exceptional care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Immanuel United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.

A visitation for Doris will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 2356 - Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A funeral service take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10:30 AM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218 in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 PM at Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40204.
