She was born January 22, 1920 in Louisville, the daughter of Roy and Nellie Stout Neal, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her first husband William Zurschmeide; her second husband, Keith Duncan; one brother, Freeman Neal; and a sister-in-law Marie Neal.
Dorothy worked as a buyer for Bacon’s Department Store, St. Matthews and had previously attended Crescent Hill Christian Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Barbara Stewart; one granddaughter, Amy Stewart; one grandson, Scott Stewart; one great-grandson, A.J. Stewart; a niece, Darlene Neal, and a nephew, Ronald Neal.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 in the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Regis Woods Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided Dorothy.
