Dorothy E. Ritchie Ledington

Dorothy E. Ledington, 91, of Louisville, KY, passed away Thursday April 5, 2012.Born on April 4, 1921, raised in Flaherty, KY by the late Charles and Lula Ritchie she is the last of her 7 siblings. Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Julian “Buster” Ledington and her infant son Gary. She was a very devout Catholic and raised a beautiful family. Dorothy worked at Four Roses Distillery and retired from Old Fitzgerald Distillery. She enjoyed playing cards and taking long walks. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Bob (Bonnie), Joe (Dottie), Larry (Michele) and Kerry (Sharon) and her daughter Debbie (Chester); She leaves 16 adoring grandchildren Rob, Mike, Mark, Gary, Chad, Scott, Matthew, Nicholas, Jennifer, Tonya, Anna, Laura, Kathleen, Mary Rose, Kelly, and Danielle along with 18 great-grandchildren, in addition to several nieces, nephews and her precious little dog Sophie. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all the nurses and caregivers at the Nazareth Home’s Charity Court. You are all true angels of mercy. Her Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 10 at Mary Queen of Peace, St. Helen Campus at 10:00am with burial at St. Michaels Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8pm on Monday, April 9 at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nazareth Home, 2000 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY 40205.
