In Memory Of A Wonderful neighbor, Doug who never met a stranger, we love and miss you.Doug I promise you last year, I'd try and decorate a little more this Christmas for Josh.How you loved to decorate for Christmas. You'd always say it was for the grandaughters, but you loved watching the lights twinkle at night.We will help  Brenda in any way I can to decorate. Doug,
It's weird not seeing you outside on your deck holding Sophie. I can close my eyes for a split second and I can see you with Sophie. When you went to the hospital I Never thought in a million years you wouldn't be back home. I know you will always be looking down and watching over your family and Ms. Sophie. 
When you died I told Mom it's too close to home. Josh died without having his transplant then you died and you had your transplant. It has really hit me and then once again I think "Why Does Bad Things Happen To The Good Ones" 
We will miss you very much... You should see Mom with Sophie she's gotten attached, how can you not she is a cutie for sure. 
Doug when you see Josh will you tell him I LOVE him and MISS him like crazy. I would say give him a hug for me, but Josh would never let anyone hug hiim. Please give Josh my LOVE. Heaven now has the 2 Greatest Men up there now.

You would be so proud of Missy,Donnie, Mark and Heather.They have been by Brenda since day one. You'd be proud to know, Sophie has become Best Buddies with me.Haley and Hannah have become my Lil Buddies. Doug,we Thank You for everything you've done for us,always ready to help us, if needed.
So many people have stopped in front of the house and ask what happen to you.You left many friends, but in Our Hearts, you'll always be.

I will greatly miss you in my life. It has already been very hard. Yesterday was  our 44 anniversity.We were together for 58 years.There will be no one else in my life to take your place. As you know I loved you with all my heart. You were the life and lover, best friend. In the early years it was tough as you know. But we got thru it.The last eighteen months we had together I will cherished forever.We had two wonderful childrens and granddaughters. Doug, your were a dear friend, loving father and husband but in our books you were a number ONE grandfather to the two "young ladies" in your life, Haley and Hanna Rose.  As the other grandparents to Haley,  we can not tell you how much we appreciate the time you spent with her, never ever missing one of her Dances or Preformances.  When she dances this weekend your sit will still be on the end of the aisle, we will make sure that no one takes that place.

Uncle Doug....

You were an amazing man who had a huge heart. You would do everything you could to help others even when you didn't feel well yourself and you would never complain. You were more than an Uncle to a lot of us. You were a father figure.  You were a huge part of our lives. I just hope you realized just how important you were to all of us.  When Ricky's dad died you were always there for his family and I'm not sure how Ricky would have made it through that hard time without you and Aunt Brenda.  You continued to watch over our family after Jean died and I know that meant the world to her.  There is a huge void in our hearts now that you are gone but you left so many memories for us to cherish.  I am hoping that those memories will help get us through this difficult time.  I know you were sad to leave your beloved family but I also know you were anxious to see your family who passed before you.  I am sure Mamaw, Papaw, Roy, Jean and Uncle Lawrence were waiting for you with open arms.  You will be greatly missed Uncle Doug. May you rest in peace.  We loved you very much.
