

She was born to Mollie and Edward Long on May 23, 1944 in Hazard, Kentucky.
Druzella lived many years in Louisville, where she was a member of Walters Clement A.M.E. Zion Church and previous President of the Pastors Choir. Later Druzella moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she met and married Larry Grimes, Sr. in 1994. Druzella worked for years at YMCA, where she retired due to health problems. She was also a member of St. Luke Methodist Church in Reisterstown, Maryland.
Druzella is preceded in death by her parents and step-daughter, Tammy S. Erwin.
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Grimes, Sr.; children, Regina Winters (Johnny) and Charity Dawson (Rick); step-children, Larry Leroy Grimes, Jr. and Anthony Jukes (Debbie); sister, Freddie Mooney Ceesay (Jerry); grandchildren, Rena Jones, Rev. Batavi Combs, Sr., James Taylor III, DeWayne Christon, Frederick A. Dawson; step-grandchildren, Larry Grimes III, Candace Grimes, Thomas Erwin, Michael Ervin, Devin Grimes, and Nicole Grimes; great-grandchildren, Batavi Combs, Jr., Donta Combs, and Cheyenne Jones; step-great-grandchild, Tiara Erwin; great-great-grandchildren, Mohagany and Emmaneul Weatherford; nephews, Michael Combs, Jeffrey Grimes, Quan Founder, and Che' Founder; great-niece, Kima Founder; great-nephew, Jackson Founder and Trey Burrell; aunt, Henritta Smith; special friends who were like sisters, Laura-Etta Harris, Ann Lawson, and Mildred Pervis; and a host of cousins and friends.
Drue was a fun, loving, and memorable person to all who knew her. She loved playing cards and a variety of board games.
