He was born in Beaver Dam, KY, the first son of Edward and Eva Evans.
After graduating from the University of Louisville Mr. Evans served in the army where he was stationed
in Germany during the Korean War. He was also the President of Evans Real Estate Company until his retirement.
Although an accomplished businessman, he would tell you that his greatest successes in life were his family and most
importantly, his 35 year relationship with Jesus Christ. "....To live is Christ, to die is gain." Philippians 1:21.
Mr. Evans is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Alice Rose (Priddy) Evans, sister Pauline (Evans) Walz
and his parents.
Edward leaves behind a proud legacy of five children, Virginia Marie Brown (Rick), Linda Kay Woods (Richard),
Edward Evans IV (Kathy), Michael Edward Evans (Sandra) and Donna Ann Francke (Tony) along with 17
grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Evans (Betty).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday 12 noon at Evergreen Funeral Home with entombment to follow
at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 4-8pm and
Sunday from 2-8pm.
On behalf of the entire Evans Family, we wish to express our gratitude to the staff of Green Meadows
Healthcare Center for their care and support.
