

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21st at Springdale Presbyterian Church, 7812 Brownsboro Road, Louisville, KY 40241. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Habitat for Humanity or Springdale Presbyterian Church.
Ed was born on July 5, 1939, in Nashville, Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville Speed School, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. Ed spent 33 years as an engineer at GE Appliance Park. After retiring from GE, Ed volunteered for 11 years as a house leader with Habitat for Humanity. He was also a long-time member of Springdale Presbyterian Church, where he generously donated his time and engineering skills to maintain and improve the church facilities. Ed enjoyed woodcarving, woodworking, golf and gardening, with a special passion for cultivating bonsai trees. He was a loving husband and father, and a devoted and involved grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Peggy Stubblefield, his brother-in-law Howard Stubblefield, and his niece Melinda Stubblefield. Ed is survived by his loving wife Nancy to whom he has been married for 62 years; his son Edward Scott (Carolyn) of Louisville, and grandchildren Morgan and Grant (Bailey); and his daughter Diane Stis (David) of Naperville, IL, and grandchildren Austin (Mikayla) and Ashley. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Linda Heideman, niece Susan Stodghill, nephews Bill Heideman (Joy) and Butch Stubblefield, along with a great niece and great nephew.
