Elizabeth Love Swain, 92, of Louisville, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at Elmcroft Heartland Village, with loving family at her side. Liz leaves a large loving family and a lifetime of achievements and adventures. She was a veteran of World War II serving in the 586th Army Air Force. After retirement from the real estate business in the Hamptons and Louisville, Liz traveled the world extensively including most of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
Liz was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel E. Swain and her parents, Joe and Sarah Love. She is survived by her daughters Jan Barhorst Schnur, and Sally K. Driver, son-in-law Ray Schnur; five grandchildren, David, Danny, Jane, Kurt, and Karla, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
A very special thanks to granddaughter-in-law, Melanie Barhorst, for her loving care of Liz during this difficult time.
A service to celebrate Liz's life will be officiated by The Rev. Dr. Joe Phelps and held at 4 pm, Tuesday, July 1st, 2014 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave. Her burial will be private. Visitation will be 2 – 4 prior to the service.
