

84, of Clarksville, IN, formerly of Louisville, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of August 20, 2012 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Lexington, KY and a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 30 years. He was a Christian by faith and an avid moviegoer. He liked to go to the boat, was a bowler in his younger years and absolutely loved dogs, especially dachshunds. Family and friends used to laugh when he would say all the dogs on his route loved him because he always carried doggie treats to hand out. He also loved to travel with JoAnn, his loving wife of 55 years.
In addition to his parents, William and Della Poe Cassidy, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Carolyn Hipp, Dorothy Hilton and William Cassidy.
Cherishing his memory are his wife, JoAnn Ott Cassidy; son, Mark Cassidy (Teresa); a cousin, Jane Conrey, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
His Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at noon, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
