She was a retired foodservice worker for Audubon Hospital and a member of Evangel World Prayer Center. She was also a minister who served in the Appalachian area performing missionary work.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dennis Simmons.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Blackwell (Bob) and June Vincent (Don); a sister, Vera Wells; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 Friday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday.
