Frances Jeanette Powell

Born on November 22, 1951, Jeanne lived a life filled with warmth, resilience, and compassion. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, William and Barbara Simms, as well as her siblings—David Simms, Anne Collins, Dominic Simms, and Thomas Simms. Their memories, along with hers, will forever be cherished by those who loved them.

Jeanne is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry Powell; her children, Michelle Tooke (Treav) and Jason Hennemann; and her stepchildren, Wendy Ramsey and Eric Powell. She also leaves behind her siblings Phil Simms (Diana), Sara Simms, and Joe Simms (Ann), her grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Her family was the center of her world, and her love for them was evident in every moment shared, every meal prepared, and every word of encouragement spoken.

Jeanne had a gift for making people feel welcome and seen. Whether through her quiet acts of kindness, her easy laughter, or her strong sense of family, she touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and grace.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Owl Creek Lodge located at 10607 Hobbs Station Road, Louisville, Ky 40223 from 3:00-6:00 pm. During the last hour there will be a prayer service and a chance for all who knew and loved Jeanne to share in remembering a remarkable woman whose light continues to shine in the hearts of those she left behind.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
