He retired from DuPont in 1988. Mr. DeAnda was a native of Alpine, TX and a member of Incarnation Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the US Army.
George loved people, family gatherings and watching softball and football when his children or grandchildren were playing. George loved his wine, Wildcats, Cowboys and family, especially his wife, his angel. He never met a stranger and always had a story or joke to tell.
Mr. DeAnda is survived by his wife, Virginia "Boo"; two daughters, Lisa Pence (Darren) and Becky Reichle (Vic); seven grandchildren, Chas, Bethany, Dylan, Garrett, Evan, Bella and Sami; a brother, Marcello DeAnda; and five sisters, Marta Bustamante, Delores Marin (Raymond), Angela Mahaffay, Vivian Chavez (Ernesto) and Mary Ann Almanza (Pete).
His funeral will be on Wednesday at 10am at the Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, with interment following in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be on Monday from 3pm until 8pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Crusade for Children.
