George was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from National Distrillers and LG&E.
George was Catholic by faith and had formerly attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, William F. Porter III; and parents, William and Thelma Hellmueller.
George is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dollas Hellmueller; grandchildren, Heather Marie Fields Simpson (Shayne) and William F. Porter IV; and great-grandchild, Alexis Taylor Wright.
A funeral service to honor the life of George will held 4pm on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12pm-4pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
