Georgia Beavin Scales, 83, of Louisville, passed away February 20, 2014 at her home. She was born on February 20, 1931 in Cloverport, Kentucky to the late Austin and Anna Beavin. She was a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital and later in her career at Christopher East. Georgia was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Infirmary Alumni.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Scales; three brothers, Paul, Patrick and Hay Hay Beavin; and a sister, Jeanne Lottes.
She is survived by her loving husband, Herbert K. Scales Jr.; six children, Herb Scales III (Patricia), Donna Roberts (Bob), Bruce Scales (Cheryl), Doug Scales (Karen), Greg Scales (Bryce), John Scales (Jackie); two sisters, Clara Mae Kuhl and Dorothy Carter; nine grandchildren, Herb, Susan, Michael, Patrick, Aaron, Matthew, Maggie, Sam and Krissie; and two great-grandchildren, Noah and Georgia Grace.
A celebration of her life will be conducted Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Monday, February 24, 2014 at the funeral home.
