

Gilbert Ross Gordon, 86 years of age, left this world on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Norton Suburban Hospital with his loving daughter by his side. He was a native of Shelbyville and was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 -1946, as a naval Master Motor Machinist Mate, 3rd Class. He retired from Premium Foil Products Company where he was plant manager and a die designer.
He was a loving father, a great photographer, and a Cessna pilot and flight instructor. He loved to bowl, roller skate, and work as a mechanic. He was definitely a renaissance man, a animal lover and a wonderful dancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Flora Pace Gordon; siblings, George Gordon, Evelyn Wilding, Mary Pfeiffer and his ex-wife, Dorothy "Hobbs" Gordon.
Gilbert is survived by his loving daughter, Julie Ellen Gordon; his brother, Robert (Ada) Gordon; adopted daughter, Beverly Jean "Kaiser" Edwards; his beloved dogs, Bonnie Belle and Foxy; and numerous nieces , nephews and cousins.
His Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be onThursday from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
