Gladella Jean Cox

Gladella Jean Cox, age 83, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Born on April 23, 1942, in Louisville, she was the cherished daughter of the late Ernest Vanvactor and Mable (Morrison) Romans. Jean was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Bridget Cox Smith, and her sister, Becky Joy.

A devoted mother, Jean dedicated her life to raising her three children with love and care. She was a faithful member of Epiphany Catholic Church and found joy and fellowship in her Friday Bible Study Group.

She is lovingly survived by her two sons, Buddy Cox (Fariba) and Tim Cox (Beth); five grandchildren, Jimmy, Kristina, Ashley, Shannon, and Nicolette; and ten great-grandchildren, Ariana, Brynlee, Macy, Sophia, Sienna, Mikey, Sawyer, Annabel, Dalton, and Harper.

A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville, KY. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
