Gordon S. “Papa”, 84, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012, surrounded by his family.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy, and was a dedicated employee of Stauffer Chemical Co. for 28 years. Afterward he worked for Silvercrest Children’s Development Center, where he retired after 10 years of service. Gordon was mostly known for his role as a loving family man, and always there to be the “teacher” to his grandchildren.
His son, Gordon S. Jr.; and brother, Fred Lampman precede him in death.
Left to carry on his memory are his wife of 45 years, Marlene Alessi Lampman; sons, Richard (Michelle) and Robert; grandchildren, Josh, Kelly, Kimberly, Ryan, Katie and Brendan; daughter in-law, Lesley; sisters, Jean and Sharon; and brother, Jim.
A service celebrating the life of Gordon will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Entombment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
