

Gracie was a member of the Lady's Auxiliary and was very involved with the VFW Okolona Post#8639. She was the former Vice President and Secretary of the Homemakers Association in Corydon, IN. Gracie volunteered for the League of Women Voters in Louisville and New Salisbury, IN where she worked in the voting poles. In her later years, Gracie worked for Wal-Mart as a product demonstrator and in the deli department. Gracie also had been attending church with her daughter, Robin at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Lexington, KY.
Gracie is preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Springer, Sr.; 2 great-grandsons, Derek and Ian; siblings, William "Bill", Howard, Tommy Metcalfe, Polly Russell, Katherine Richards, and LaVerne Beers.
Gracie, the loving mother of 4 children leaves behind to cherish her memory, Kitty Shaw (Bob), Jay D. Springer (Lisa), Patty McClure (Ron), and Robin O'Bryan (Steve); 9 grandchildren, Tracy Terry, Bobby Springer, Trisha Hayden, Russ Terry, Renae Trunnell, Ron McClure, Jr., Joseph O'Bryan, Karissa O'Bryan, and Elizabeth Headley; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Gracie at noon on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Evergreen Funeral Home, with Father John Moriarty officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1pm-8pm on Sunday and from 10am-12pm on Monday at the funeral home.
