

BRISTOW, GUY H. SR., 84, passed away early Saturday morning, September 3, 2011, with his loving children and family by his side. Guy was the son of Tullie Aurella Parler and Arl Henry Bristow, of Jeffersonville, IN. Guy was a graduate of Male High School, an Army Veteran of World War II, where he proudly served with his father, and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Suburban Lodge #740, Scottish Rite and Kosair Shrine. He was a retired employee of General Electric with over 30 years of service. Guy was the devoted husband of Ruby Laverne (Pierce) Bristow, who preceded him in death. He was the proud father of five children, Larry (Sue), Gregory Scott (Mark), Mindy Jackson (Marty), Judy (Robert) and Guy Henry Bristow Jr.; seven Grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and as he was proud of telling everyone "Great-Grand Baby #9 on the way". Guy was preceded in death by his four sisters, Faye Voyles, Billie Guadagnino, Bernice Hartz and Ruth Whalen. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at O.D White and Sons Funeral Home, 2727 S.Third St., with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and Thursday after 9 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Baptist Hospital East's CCU, especially "Nurse Sarah" and Dr. Joel Horowitz.
