Henry Allen Koellner

Allen was born in Louisville, KY and attended Saint Xavier and DeSales High Schools. He graduated from Roys Beauty School and went on to continue the family business, owning Chateau Beauty Shop, Shear Power, and Hair by Allen & Sandie. He would share his knowledge presenting at hair shows around the country.

Allen was a man of many interests. He enjoyed small plane aviation, metal detecting, playing drums, camping, drag racing, and fishing. He is a past president of the Louisville Hair Society and a past treasurer of the Oldham County Bass Club. More than anything, Allen loved his family and life’s various opportunities to spend time with them.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence & Agnes Koellner and brother Larry Koellner. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Sandie Koellner; his children: Brittney Langlois (Daniel), Corey Koellner (Melissa), and Casey Koellner; his sister Laura Caummisar (Bob) and sister-in-law Darlene Koellner; and his cherished grandchildren Katherine, Joseph, Jakob, Henry, Anna, & William.

Allen was a Catholic by baptism and a believer to the end. He will always be remembered for his concern for others. Never a man of privilege, he was always willing to offer what he had to assist family & friends. The world is better because he dwelt upon it.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, June 29th from 3 to 8 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven on Bardstown Road. The funeral service will take place on Friday, June 30th at 11 AM in the Resthaven chapel.
