Ilene Reardon, 71, of Louisville Kentucky, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026. Born on July 19, 1954, Ilene was the daughter of the late William Stacer and Rebecca Stacer. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony Reardon; brothers, Billy Stacer and Jeffrey Lynn Stacer; and extended family members, John “Skip” Reardon, Maureen Reardon, Martin Patrick Reardon, Tim Reardon, Michael Reardon, and Susan Hunt.
Those who knew Ilene will remember a woman whose steady strength was matched by a gentle spirit—devoted in the ways that mattered most, patient in the everyday moments, and thoughtful in how she cared for others. Her resilience was not loud, but enduring; her presence, deeply cherished. In the lives she touched, she leaves an example of bravery shaped by love, and an inspiration that will continue to steady those who carry her memory forward.
Ilene found joy in simple, beautiful things: tending to her garden, painting, and spending time listening to live music. She was also a devoted U of L Basketball fan. As a hairdresser, she built lasting relationships with her clients—connections rooted in genuine care and a quiet attentiveness that made people feel seen and valued.
Above all, Ilene treasured every moment with her grandson, Phoenix. Their daily Wordle games, the time spent together, and the joy she felt watching him play sports were among her greatest delights. In her role as “Grammy,” she shined the brightest, and the love shared between Ilene and Phoenix will forever be cherished.
In words of love from her daughter, Kendra “KD”:
“My mother embodied strength and resilience, while radiating kindness, generosity, and love for both me and Phoenix and the people around her. Before she passed, we were lucky to spend so much time together, and it gave me an even deeper appreciation for everything that made her who she was — stubbornness and all. In her role as “Grammy” she shined the brightest, and it was beautiful to witness a bond like theirs.
I still think about holding her hand and the peace it brought me. A mother’s touch is truly irreplaceable. I miss my mama deeply and even as I grieve her I feel her strength within me as I move forward with intention, appreciation, and a grateful heart.”
Left to cherish her memory, is her loving daughter, Kendra “KD” Bavis; grandson, Phoenix Boston; siblings, Beverly Williams, Jimmy Stacer, and Wayne Stacer; sibling in-laws, Mary Ann Pillbean (Jim), Stephen Hunt, Betty Jane Reardon Vance (Morgan), Shirley Reardon Brown (Steve), Dan Reardon (Sherry), Joyce Hall, and Betty Vaugh Reardon; and a host of loving family members, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40213, on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Ilene will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Tony, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, Kentucky. Memorial donations in Ilene’s loving memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
