James R. Cambron

We are celebrating the life of Ronnie Cambron, who was born March 24, 1942, of Louisville, and passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Ronnie Cambron, retired from Local Union 89 with over 30 years of service. He was also a proud Navy Veteran.

Ronnie was an avid golfer who loved to play the game with his friend’s, son’s and grandson’s, Ronnie loved the many family cookouts, but more than anything Papaw Ronnie loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports, hardly missing a game. Above all Ronnie loved his family and cherished any opportunity to spend time with them.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother’s, Terry and Danny Cambron, and a granddaughter, Riley Jo Cambron.

Ronnie has left behind to cherish his memory, the love of his life, Jonnie Mae Cambron with 62 years of marriage, 3 children; Rocky Cambron (Becky), Scott Cambron (Laura), Mimi Hagerman (Scott); sister, Kathy Cambron-Scott (Charles); uncle, Richard Salsman (Carolyn), grandchildren; Paige Dixon (Scott), Rex Hagerman (Lexus), Garrett Cambron (Aubree), Morgan Cambron, Jenna Cambron (Gaje), Evan Cambron and Cambron Hagerman. Five great-grandchildren; Maddox and Brantley Dixon, Ava and Parker Hagerman, and Kruz Cambron.

Everyone should be as fortunate as we have been to have had Ronnie for the time that we had him. We can say from our hearts that he was our leader, teacher and mentor to many, and above everything else he was the best Dad and Papaw anyone could ask for. Ronnie, Rollo, Senior Chief, you will be forever missed and always loved. Thank you for the time you gave us. GOD SPEED SENIOR CHIEF SALUTE. We will see you later.

Visitation for Ronnie will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Arch L Heady Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road. Celebration of life Service will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church Friday, September 27 at 10:00 AM, 5500 Bardstown Road, Louisville Ky. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park 4400 Bardstown Road.
