James was born in Louisville Kentucky on March 7, 1950 to the late Albert and Anna Rose Hickerson. James graduated from St. X High School in 1969 and then from UofL with an accounting degree. After school he had a long career at SR Wood, Inc. James loved magic and watching Penn & Teller. He won first place in the Talent Show performing magic at Sanders Ridge Health Campus just a couple years ago.
James was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Dorothy.
Left to cherish his memory is his dear friend, Rita Kleitz.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the EWTN Global Catholic Network, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, AL 35210 or the American Cancer Society.
The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 2 pm at Arch L Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Chapel with visitation from 10 am until the hour of the Funeral Service. Burial will follow immediately in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
