James W. Lechleiter 85 passed away peacefully with his loving family beside him on Thursday, January 2, 2014. He was born November 27, 1928 to the late Leo and Elizabeth Meyer Lechleiter. He was a veteran of the US Navy, a retired Labor Relations Specialist with Naval Ordinance, and a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, all four of his siblings, and first wife, Carolyn Cole Lechleiter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Heil Lechleiter, his 5 children; J. Douglas Lechleiter (Matt) of Nashville, TN, Greg Lechleiter (Lauren), Susan Keenan (Michael), Mary Ann Robinson (Michael), and David Lechleiter (Angela). His 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at 11 am Monday at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1395 Girard Drive. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 pm Sunday at Arch L. Heady & Son Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road.
The family would like to thank the staff at SunRise of Louisville, and Hosparus for the loving care they provided Jim, and his family.
