James R. "Jim" Patterson

James R. "Jim" Patterson, Sr., passed away in his 78th year Thursday, January 22, 2015 at his home and has gone to be with his Lord Jesus Christ. He was a lifelong resident of Louisville, KY, born July 29, 1937. Jim was a 1955 graduate of Southern High School and attended the University of Indiana and the University of Louisville. He served six years in the Navy Reserves and worked for the Naval Ordnance Station in Louisville for 30 years. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for 70 years and served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He currently was a member of First Southern Baptist in Clarksville. He enjoyed studying the Bible, wood working, auto restorations, building, and repairing anything and everything.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd "Doc" and Callie Satterly Patterson; sister, Betty Dunn Topping; and his infant daughter, Lisa Patterson.

Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly Horton Patterson; brother, William Dunn; daughter, Lynn Grayson; son, Rob Patterson(Michelle); granddaughter, Ashley Grayson Barrett(Kyle); grandson, Matthew Grayson; granddaughters, Tiffanie and Taffanie Patterson; grandson, Ty Collier; great granddaughters, Emma and Jane Barrett; and great grandsons, Nathan, Luke, and Seth Barrett.

Funeral service will be 10am Monday, January 26, 2015 at Evergreen Funeral Home with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-8pm Sunday.
