Preceded in death by parents, Franklin and Anna Payne; brother, Don Payne; son, Keith Payne; granddaughters Megan Payne and Amy Price. Survived by loving wife of 68 years, Marjorie Payne; sons Danny (Pam); Mark (Pam); Caleb (Margaret); six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Jack served in the Navy for twelve years. He retired from the Louisville Water Company after thirty years of service. He is a Master Mason, Shriner, Past President of the Royal Arch. He served as Boy Scout Leader of Troop 75 in Jeffersontown, KY and Scout Master for the Mentally Disabled Troop 475. He holds the Presidential Award in Scouting.
He is a member of Watkins Memorial Methodist Church. The family requests expressions of sympathy be sent to the church in lieu of flowers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-8 PM and Tuesday from 10AM – 8PM at the funeral home.
