James Allen Varble, 81, of Louisville passed away May 11, 2015 at Norton Inpatient Care Center. He was born on January 21, 1934 in Louisville to the late Andrew and Bertie Varble. He was a mason and loved photography. James was of the Baptist faith and was retired from International Harvesters.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Varble.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Josephine Warner Varble; children, Patricia Abrams (Benny Hill), Deborah Coffman (Dennis), David Varble (Stacy) and step- daughter, Theresa Carter (David); two brothers, William Varble (Peggy) and Robert Varble (Phyllis); and four grandchildren, Jerry Abrams (Kim), Tammie Smith (Dr. D. Smith), Michael Rothfuss (Wendy) and Alisha McWhorter (Drew).
A service to celebrate his life will be conducted Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with private burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 on Wednesday at the funeral home.
